This sculptural pendant lamp is a piece of modern fibre art and organic minimalism. Entirely hand-built in my studio, it features layers of paper raffia (paper twine) meticulously manipulated to create a voluminous, cloud-like 3D texture. By translating traditional techniques into a contemporary context, the design evokes biological structures found in nature. When unlit, the lampshade stands as a striking, tactile art object. When illuminated, the intricate paper fibres filter the light from within, creating a warm, poetic glow and casting dramatic, organic shadows across the room.
