One side of this mosaic sits deep in blue, the other fades into smoky charcoal grey, with every hand-painted reclaimed pine block placed to hold its own spot along that shift.
Every block was cut, sanded and painted individually before being placed by hand, nudged a shade lighter or darker than its neighbor until the whole thing reads as one smooth pass from blue to charcoal rather than a row of separate colors. The wood grain still shows through the paint, so the surface never looks flat.
